Denn was ihr wissen müsst: Der Flaschenverschluss wurde erst 1892 von der Crown Cork Co. erfunden. Baltimore. Bevor der Verschluss eingeführt wurde, hatten fast alle Flaschen einen Korken, auch Bierflaschen und der Flaschendeckel war bis ins 20. Jahrhundert hinein nicht weit verbreitet.
Ich war einst ein Werbe-Korkenzieher, patentiert am 10. Aug. 1897 in den U.S.A. hergestellt von der Williamsons Co Newark N. J. USA und die Werbung ist für die Fehr's Tonic, Louisville KY für ihre Malt Tonic Beer.

Very special: I am an antique corkscrew from Louisville, Kentucky. I date back to the 1890s and was in the service of Fehr's Tonic. Yes, you read that right: That was a time when you still needed a corkscrew to open a bottle of beer!
Because what you need to know: The bottle stopper wasn't invented until 1892 by the Crown Cork Co. Baltimore. Before the cap was introduced, almost all bottles had a cork, including beer bottles, and the bottle cap was not widely used until the 20th century.
